Becky was purchased as a weanling by the kids
with their own money. She is to be Jennifer's second 4H Horse.
She has had more than her fair share of troubles. She developed a liver
abscess as a weanling. Even though she couldn't get up or stand on
her own she was such a trooper and just kept telling us she did not want to die.
After over a week of Vets, IV's, and hand syringing her food, she turned around
and started to improve. She looks like she was freeze branded on her
front fetlocks from frostbite lying down on the cold ground too long. When
she was three and ready to start breaking, she got West Nile Virus.
Another close call and again when we called the vet to euthanize her, she
pleaded that she was not ready to give up. We decided to give her another
round of treatments, and miraculously she started to improve. She
now has made a complete recovery and is ready to meet that saddle. She has
an excellent disposition and is just begging to be Jen's next all-around horse.
She has nice slow floating gaits, yet she can out run the herd when she wants to
turn on the speed.
